HUGE HANGOVER Frequently Asked Questions:

1.WHAT IS A HANGOVER?

“It is that condition whereby an excessive amount of alcohol is imbibed often exceeding the limitations of the drinkers body type, leaving him with after effects consistent with those of being hit by a Mac truck.”

(Excerpted from the experiences of this author. 1964-  .)

Basically if you drink copious amounts of alcohol, then go to sleep and  then wake up you will probably have a Hang-Over.

3. WHAT ARE DELIRIUM TREMENS (DT’S)?

Burning up Vitamin Reserves:

“Drugs can also temporarily stimulate (before they ruin them) body glands.  And they can produce momentary feelings of well-being or what is known as “euphoria.”  Part of this is probably caused by the fact that they shut off, temporarily, the painful mental image pictures from the past.

“They can also speed up the burning of reserves of vitamins.  A drug or alcohol rapidly burns up the vitamin B1 in the system.  Certain drugs also burn up all available niacin and vitamin C.  This speeded burn-up can also bring about a temporary feeling of  well-being; t adds to the “happy state.”

“But when the system is out of B1, the person becomes depressed.  When the reserves are gone, the delusions called delirium tremens (“dt’s”) or the withdrawal symptons that follow are nightmarish indeed.”

Definition: a violent delirium (temporary state of extreme mental excitement, marked by restlessness, confused speech and halucinations) resulting chiefly from excessive drinking of alcohol liquor and characterized by sweating, trembling, anxiety and frightening hallucinations. Delirium tremens comes from Latin, and means literally “trembling delirium.”

( Hubbard,L.Ron .Clear Body Clear Mind.Denmark:New Era Publications International ApS.)

5.WHAT IS “DUTCH COURAGE”?

Is that feeling or sensation whereby one believes that he has taken on the attributes of John Wayne and can single handedly take on a tribe of very angry people who don’t like John Wayne.

Or that miraculous transformation following a few too many whereby some one believes they have taken on the positive attributes of Mel Gibson and Fred Astaire and subsequently feel they have the capability to woo any girl in sight. However; in reality they dance like Mel and look like Fred and no girl in their right mind would be seen within a hundred feet of them, unless they too have had a few too many.

The above affliction is a guy thing hence no reference to the girls in the above.

6.WHY DO SMOKERS SMOKE MORE WHEN THEY DRINK?

II wouldn’t have a clue.

IIf you know the answer could you post it to:

7.WHAT IS ALCOHOL?

It can be broadly categorised into those beverages that have been fermented or those that have been distilled.

8.WHAT IS FERMENTATION?

Fermentation is simply the process whereby sugar is combined with microscopic yeast cells resulting in beer or wine.  These beverages normally contain15% alcohol or less. If you were to store fruit for a couple of months, and then eat it, you would get drunk and require a hang over cure and/or a stomach pump.

9. WHAT IS DISTILLATION?

Spirits are the product of the distillation process and will give you a beverage that can have up to 50% alcohol content.  Distillation is simply the process whereby a liquid is turned into a gas then back into a liquid.

10. WHAT DOES “PROOF” MEAN?

Proof seems to be the arbitrary number given to the amount of alcohol in a spirit.  From my understanding for instance, if  an alcoholic drink was 100 proof then it contained 50% alcohol. If a drink was 80 proof then it had 40% alcohol and so on.

11. WHERE DOES THE TERM SPIRIT COME FROM?

Back in the old days they believed that if you got drunk from alcohol you were taken over by a bad spirit. Hence the meaning of the word "Spirit."

12.IS ALCOHOL A MIND ALTERING DRUG? IF NOT WHAT DOES IT DO?

“Alcohol is not a mind altering drug but it is a biochemical altering drug. Alcohol doesn’t do anything to the mind, it does something to the nerves.  By quickly and rapidly soaking up all the B1 in the body, it makes the nerves incapable of functioning properly.

“Therefore, a person can’t coordinate his body.  Alcohol in small quantities is a stimulant and in large quantities is a depressant.”

(Excerpted from the article, “HEAVY DRUG HISTORY” DEFINED, Revised 25 April 1990. Referenced from the work of L Ron Hubbard.)

13.DOES ALCOHOL EFFECT US MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY?

“A drug or alcohol burns up the vitamin B1 in the system rapidly.  This increased speed of burning up B1 adds to his “happy state.” But now his system is out of B1 so he goes depressed.”

(Excerpted from the article, DRUGS, 28 August 1968, issue II. Referenced from the work of L Ron Hubbard.)
